Shower -v- Bath

Well, we all use one or even both of these, but which do you prefer?

As a child, I would imagine you all had baths, and who remembers the tin bath in front of the fire? I never experienced that as the flat we lived in had a bathroom, and when I was about 10, my Dad installed a shower over the bath.

I would imagine kids loved it, but not much privacy as you got older

Obviously pulled inside the bath when showering

I used to love a bath as a young child, rubber ducks as well, and felt quite proud of myself that I could swim the length of the bath, lol!
Of course, once the shower was in, it was shower time all the time.
And I remember those horrible plastic shower curtains you had to pull around to stop the water going everywhere.

Since then I have stuck with a shower, and don't have a bath in the house at all. We did install one but it never got used, so got rid of it. You can’t beat a nice walk-in shower cubicle.

Even some animals like a bath/shower

Most cats tend not to, but a Siamese is no problem to give a bath to. Dogs tend not to like it cos it makes them smell nice and that goes against their instinct.

Me as a child !!

The downside of bathing a dog

I am NOT getting in there

“Generally, taking a shower uses less water than a full bath. A standard showerhead flows at a rate of 2.5 gallons per minute. This means that a ten-minute shower only uses 25 gallons of water. A full bath can use up to 50 gallons of water.” So generally a shower is more economical and to my mind cleaner. In a bath, you are sitting in dirty water !

So, let us have your thoughts and let us know which you prefer.
And if you have both, do you use both?

All are welcome.
And please feel free to share all discussions you enjoy.
